Duke Wins Super Gas 5-Round Race at MCR

Goodlettsville, TN, August 19, 2007 – Back-to-back 6.30-second Super Gas runs and a stunning +.0001-second reaction time in the semi-final iced the winning night for Duke Bros. Racing Team driver Ronnie Duke at Music City Raceway’s NHRA drag racing Saturday night. The margin of victory in the finals was .0041 seconds.

2007After a gremlin-challenged first half of the year and some intense development on fuel and delivery systems, Duke has logged two runner-up showings in 5.50 heads-up and pulled into the second-place berth for the Super Gas track championship since June 30.

Duke is a seven-time Music City Raceway track champion, winning in 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1993, 2003 and 2004.  In a racing career that began in the 1960s, Duke is a multiple International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) national event winner and has two top-ten finishes in NHRA Division 2. Duke and his wife, Peggy, live in Middle Tennessee. He is a Commercial Parts Specialist with Advance Auto Parts in Murfreesboro, TN.

Ron Duke #1 Qualifier and Runner Up Again in 5.50 Heads-Up at Music City Raceway

Ron Duke in Finals Again; Runs Closest Race in Career

Huntsville, AL, June 11, 2006 – An untimely eight thousandths of a second red light placed Ron Duke in the runner up spot for a second time in as many weeks. His second round win was the closest race in Duke’s 38-year career with a margin of two ten-thousandths of a second. Duke was number three qualifier at Saturday night’s 5.50 Heads Up Race at the ADRL Summer Drags presented by Flowmaster at Huntsville Dragway.

Goodlettsville, TN, June 20, 2005 – Ron Duke, defending 2003 and 2004 NHRA Saturday Night Racing Super Gas Champion at Music City Raceway, won the third race of the season last night in a healthy field of competitors, pushing him into a tie for the points lead. The win joins a national event runner-up berth at the fifth annual O’Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway creating momentum for a good racing season. He will compete in the Sears Craftsman Nationals in East St. Louis, IL next week.

 Bowling Green, KY, June 1, 2005 – Jerry Duke was Super Gas Runner-Up at the NHRA Divison 3 Sports Nationals Open Sunday. For the second year in a row, Duke was in the finals for this race.

In the second year that Duke Bros. Racing has fielded two cars, Duke was driving the Duke Bros. Racing ’27 Ford Roadster with a big block Chevy engine. Duke Bros. Duke Runner-Up at NHRA National Event

Bristol, TN, May 2, 2005 – Ron Duke was Super Gas Runner-Up at the fifth annual O’Reilly Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway in Tennessee Sunday. After long rain delays plaguing the four-day event subsided, Super Gas racers completed one time trial in the morning and six rounds Sunday evening. “There was no time to think,” Duke said. “We just had to keep racing.”
